Dr.
Andrew Morton, MD
Health
Officer

Dr.
Morton is our Health Officer. He came on board in December, 2009, after the unexpected death of our
long-time health
officer, Dr. Rashidul Islam, in late July of the same year.
Dr.
Morton grew up in nearby Milltown, Indiana. He graduated from Ball
State University, received his Medical Degree from Indiana University,
then completed his residency in Family Practice from Naval Hospital
Pensacola in 2000. Dr. Morton served in the Army Reserves, then as
Ship Medical Officer in the Navy aboard the USS FRANK CABLE in Asia and the Far
East. He also spent time with the Marines at MCAS Cherry Point as Family Physician and Head of Occupational
Medicine for the base. He is glad to be back home after
serving 16 years in the Armed Forces. He is with Harrison Family
Medicine on Federal Drive in Corydon.
He
is married to the former Gina Martin of Columbus, Indiana, and together
they have four wonderful children; Samantha, Toby, Benjamin and
Theodore.

Mr.
Maurice Fisher,
Vice
Chairman
|
Mr.
Fisher is currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Health Board and
has been a member since the board's inception in 1965.
He
served as president of Fisher's Auto Body and Fender Repair Shop, Inc.,
located southeast of Corydon on Country Club Road, from 1959 until he
retired in 1985.
As
a lifetime resident of Harrison County, Mr. Fisher has participated in
many civic activities. He is a member of the former Corydon
Chamber of Commerce and a current member of the Harrison County Chamber
of Commerce. He is also an elected member of the Advisory Board to
the Harrison Township Trustee.
He
and his wife, Elenora, have been married for 63 years. They
have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. The
Fishers enjoy gardening, participating in parades and antique car shows
with friends and members of the Hoosier Knobs C.A.R. Club, and
traveling throughout the US.

Dr.
Kevin Pierson, DDS, has been on the health board since 1987.

Dr.
Julie Janes, DVM
|
Dr.
Julie Janes, DVM, has been a board member since 1999. She owns and
works at Georgetown Veterinary Clinic in Georgetown, Indiana, and West End
Veterinary Clinic in Louisville, Kentucky. The Health Department
sponsors an annual rabies shot clinic every May, and Dr. Janes and her
staff give
generously of their time to vaccinate Harrison county pets. She
also works with spay/neuter groups in the county to economically alter
pets.

Dr.
Anna Fisher, MD

Dr.
Anna Fisher, MD, has been on the health board since 2000. She is a
Corydon native and resides in Lanesville. She is a graduate of
Corydon Central High School, Hanover College, and Indiana University
School of Medicine. She has been in private practice as a family
practice physician in New Albany for the past 20 years. She has
two children.

Mr.
Roger Windell,
Chairman

Mr.
Roger Windell has been a member of the health board since 2004 and
currently serves as Board Chairman. He is a retired business
manager of a local propane company where he served for nearly 30 years.
Mr.
Windell has been elected to four terms on the South Harrison Community
School Corporation Board of Trustees. He is an appointed member of
the Harrison County Alternative School board and a past trustee on the
IVY Tech Board, Sellersburg campus. He is also a member of the
Corydon Rotary Club.
He
and his wife, Pat, have two children and 6 grandchildren.

Dr.
Bruce Burton, MD
|
Dr.
Bruce Burton was confirmed to the health board in July, 2010.
He
was born in Woodville, Texas; his father is a retired Family Medicine
doctor and his mother is a community organizer. He attended Baylor University in Waco, majoring in
chemistry. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical
School in Dallas in 1978. He completed the Family Practice
residency training program in Louisville, Kentucky in 1981. In
1989 he
became qualified in Geriatric Medicine by the American Board of Family
Medicine. His office is located in the Medical Pavilion next to the new hospital at 1263 Hospital Drive NW, Suite
240.
He
and his wife, Joan, like to garden and they are active in the
Louisville Ethnic Dancers, where they first met. Joan is a
retired RN and an avid Master Gardener. She is an active member
of the Kentuckiana Herb Society, and Bruce loves her culinary
skills.
Besides
his office practice, Dr. Burton is the Medical Director of the Family
Health Center of Harrison County. He enjoys being the team
physician for the Corydon Panther football team. He is also
Medical Director of the Kindred Health and Rehabilitation Services
center in Corydon.
